Dr. Mary
Aaland |
| |
Dr.
Aaland earned her MD from the University of North Dakota
in 1982 and her general surgery residency at the
University of Illinois at Peoria. She was the J. D.
Martin trauma fellow at Emery University in Atlanta,
Georgia and was an assistant professor of surgery there
for three years. She boarded not only in general
surgery, but also in surgical clinical care. Dr. Aaland
has more than 12 years of surgical experience. Her
special interest is in the surgical care of the complex
surgical and trauma patient.
Dr. Aaland has become a fellow and member in a variety
of prestigious organizations including: Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons, member of the Illinois
Surgical Society, Inc., the Southeastern Surgical
Society, American Burn Association, Midwest Surgical
Associates, Association of Women Surgeons, American
Trauma Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine and
the Southern Medical Association. She has privileges at
Parkview Hospital, The Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, and
St. Joseph Hospital and is the Medical Director of
Parkview’s Trauma Services and Intensive Care Unit.
Throughout her career she has been an active medical
educator to the general public and to her peers, with an
emphasis on safety and trauma prevention. |
